Hawaii based soldier killed in Iraq

A Hawaii-based soldier was killed over the weekend from wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his vehicle with grenades.  The incident was reported in Ba Qubah, Iraq on Sunday, August 15.

The Department of Defense identified the soldier as Spc. Jamal M. Rhett, 24, of Palmyra, N.J.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
