It’s another Red Flag Warning Day for the leeward sections of Maui and Molokai.  That means there’s gong to be a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures, creating conditions for rapid fire growth.  The conditions will persist through this afternoon with the advisory in effect until 6 p.m.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly that will create rapid fire growth potential.  A Red Flag Warning does not predict new fire starts.

INFORMATION:  Maui County Civil Defense will continue to monitor the situation.  Please listen to your local radio and TV stations or NOAA weather radio broadcasts for any updates.

NOAA Weather Broadcasts can be reached by calling 1-866-944-5025. NOAA Weather Internet services can be found at www.prh.noaa.gov/hnl.
