Hawaiian Airlines has launched its first-ever nonstop flights between Maui and Las Vegas.  The route was announced earlier this year and has since started twice-weekly service with a wide-body Boeing 767-300 aircraft that seats up to 264 passengers.  The new service adds 2,000 seats per month to the route.  The route was initiated in response to the demand from Maui residents.  Maui visitors to Vegas arrive in the afternoon and depart at night, allowing them to make the most of their stay in Las Vegas.  (VIDEO below is from the June 9, 2010 press conference announcing Hawaiian’s new service between Maui and Las Vegas.)  [flashvideo file= /]

Flight #32 departs Maui’s Kahului Airport on Mondays and Thursdays at 8:00 a.m. and arrives at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas at 4:35 p.m., giving island residents enough time to enjoy a full evening in Las Vegas their first day.

Flight #31 departs Las Vegas on Sundays and Wednesdays at 6:25 p.m. and arrives on Maui at 9:25 p.m., allowing residents to enjoy a full final vacation day in Las Vegas before arriving home.

The Las Vegas departure and arrival times will be approximately one hour earlier when Daylight Saving Time ends next month.

Tickets can be booked online at, or by calling Hawaiian’s reservations department toll-free at (800) 367-5320.
