Lanai resident, and middle eastern studies student, Richard Gima will be featured guest this morning on a special edition of the Maui Breakfast Club radio show.
Gima, who was evacuated from American University in Cairo to Istanbul and then to Oman, will provide commentary on today’s breaking news of Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak’s fall from power.
The interview airs at 8 a.m. on KNUI AM 900 with questions from hosts Tom Blackburn-Rodriguez and Kellie Pali.
After 30 years of power Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has agreed to step down, resigning his powers and succumbing to the demands of country men who have been demonstrating for 18 days.
Demonstrators had expressed frustration over poverty and allegations of government corruption under 3 decades of Mubarak’s autocratic rule.
The army has since assured the residents that it will move the county towards elections in the future.
