Assessment Notices mailed to Maui Property Owners

Property owners on Maui will soon be receiving their 2011 real property assessment notices in the mail.  The notices are being mailed out by the Real Property Tax Division on or before March 15, 2011.

Property owners will have until April 11th to file an appeal with the Board of Review or Tax Appeal Court if they disagree with the assessment made.  Potential appeals can include challenges of general land class, number of allowable exemptions, or assessment value.

Property owners are encouraged to carefully review the document and contact the Division by phone at (808) 270-7297 if they have any questions.  If an assessment notice is not received, inquiries can be made to the same number.  Further assessment information is also available online at www.mauipropertytax.com.

Charges for the first half installment of the 2011-2012 fiscal year will be mailed on or before July 20, 2011.
