[flashvideo file=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ev3FBIoHMX8 /] To ensure that all critical calls can go through, Hawaiian Telcom is asking Hawaii residents to limit phone calls to emergencies only at this time. Call traffic volume has increased significantly following the reported 8.9 magnitude earthquake off the east coast of Honshu, Japan, and the subsequent tsunami warning issued for the state of Hawaii. The heavy call volume may result in some customers experiencing a slight delay for dial tone or call completion.
Hawaiian Telcom thanks customers for their cooperation and support.
