Free Tax Preparations for Certain Maui Workers
By David Kvasnicka
Free tax preparations are being offered to certain workers on Maui as part of a marketing campaign by Liberty Tax Service. The offer applies to police
officers, medical workers, firefighters, teachers and other education staff, and both active and inactive military personnel. The offer is open from today until April 3rd.
Liberty Tax Service started operations on Maui in January, 2011. The franchisee owner, Sharon Dodgin, said that the idea for the free tax preparations was to “show community support and create goodwill.”
Eligible Maui workers who wish to redeem the offer should call Sharon Dodgin on (808) 871-2615 between now and April 3rd.
Dodgin also offers a “Cell Phones for Soldiers” scheme, where residents can drop off a working or non-working cell phone in a drop-bin at the Liberty Tax Service offices. Each phone donated provides an overseas member of the military a 70 minute phone card. The scheme is valid year round, but Dodgin is promoting a phone drive through tax season and the drop box is located at:
