Keith Yamamoto Named First Deputy Health Director

Governor Neil Abercrombie today announced the appointment of Keith Yamamoto as the First Deputy Director of the state Department of Health.
Yamamoto most recently served as the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administrator for the Department, a post he held for the last six years. During his service, he led statewide efforts concerning prevention, intervention and treatment services.
Other prior experience includes past service as a Children and Youth Program Development Officer. He also worked as a Program Coordinator and Career Counselor at the State’s School-to-Work Transition Centers.
Yamamoto is State Certified as a Substance Abuse Program Administrator. He has a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Hawai’i and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Northern Colorado.
