Old Lahaina Luau Hosting Tribute to Akoni Akana
By Erica Garza
Old Lahaina Luau will host a tribute to the late Akoni Akana and a benefit for Moku’ula Lahaina on June 4th.
Anthony “Akoni” Akana was the founding executive director of the Friends of Moku’ula for nearly two decades, an organization that strives to educate the Hawaiian and non-Hawaiian community on the significance of historical sites in a non-exploitive environment and to initiate the process of restoring, protecting and preserving historically significant sites.
Feast on traditional Hawaiian fare with menu items like Kalua Pua’a, Mahi Mahi, Pulehu Steak, Sweet Potato, Ahi Poke and so much more while you enjoy music and cultural dances inspired by the islands’ thick history.
In addition to the menu favorites and Old Lahaina Luau’s regular entertainment, there will be surprise guest performances and proceeds will go to the Friends of Moku’ula. Learn more about organization by visiting www.Mokuula.com.
Tickets are $100 with tables of 8 going for $700. Call Old Lahaina Luau at 808-667-1998 for more details and to reserve a table today.
