Travelocity Ranks Maui in Top 5 Summer Family Destinations

Maui ranks in the top five family vacation destinations for summer 2011, according to travel booking giant Travelocity. 

Data shows an overwhelming number of families will travel to beach destinations in the U.S. and the Caribbean. On a list of the top ten summer family destinations a majority are in beach locations, however, the number one destination for summer 2011 is a theme park.  Orlando, Florida was ranked the number-one family destination for the summer.

Honolulu, Maui, and Kauai ranked #3, #4, #5, respectively. Kona ranked high as well;  coming in at #7.

The Caribbean did very well on the top ten list as well, with Turks & Caicos and the Bahamas coming in at #9 and #10.

Mexico had Cancun and Puerto Vallarta on the top list at #2 and #8, respectiviely.
