Four Schofield Soldiers Killed in Afghanistan

Four soldiers out of Schofield Barracks in Hawaii died in Afghanistan on Monday, May 23, 2011. The men suffered fatal wounds in an attack by enemy forces with an improvised explosive device. The incident occurred in the Kunar province of Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense identified the men as: Staff Sgt. Kristofferson B. Lorenzo, 33, of Chula Vista, Calif., Pfc. William S. Blevins, 21, of Sardinia, Ohio, Pvt. Andrew M. Krippner, 20, Garland, Texas; and Pvt. Thomas C. Allers, 23, of Plainwell, Mich.

The soldiers were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, from Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.  All were fighting in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
