The Summit of Haleakala on  Maui is under a Wind Advisory until 6 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2011.  Winds are expected to be from the East, blowing at 30-40 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph.  The National Weather Service extended the advisory from previous forecasts.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.  Motorists should drive with caution.  The public is also reminded to secure any loose objects that may become airborne, or move them indoors.
