By Sonia Isotov
UPS Freight, the nation’s fourth largest Less-than-Truckload (LTL) carrier, announced Friday that a 6.9 percent general rate increase will go into effect August 1, 2011.
The new rate increase covers non-contractual LTL, or small parcel, shipments in the United States, Canada and Mexico, and applies to minimum charge, LTL rates and accessorial charges.
Customers will be able to view and download the new rates online starting August 1 at UPS Freight.
The impact of the rate increase may vary based on specific lanes or shipment characteristics, such as weight or class.
