An estimated 1,500 county employees are without voicemail as a result of a corrupted hard drive.

The problem was discovered this morning, however, it is unknown how long the system has been down. County officials say it will take at least two days to repair and resolve the issue.

According to county authorities, the Mayor’s Office received no voice mail messages over the weekend. Because of this, the county believes the problem likely began prior to the discovery on Monday morning.

The voice mail issue affects every centrally located County office, from the Kaunoa Senior Center in Spreckelsville to the main County Building in Wailuku.

During the repair period, members of the public who need to leave a message for a county employee after hours can do so via email. To obtain the email address of the person is trying to be reached, a message can be sent to [email protected].
