Abercrombie Attends National Governors Assoc. Meeting

Governor Neil Abercrombie departed for the mainland Wednesday afternoon, where he will attend the 103rd National Governors Association (NGA) Meeting. The annual conference is being held in Salt Lake City, Utah and runs from July 15-17, 2011.
Issues that will be discussed include: education, job creation, and building relationships with China. The agenda includes a peer-to-peer exchange established to strengthen dialogue between China and the U.S., focusing on topics of mutual interest.
Weekend discussion includes a session on international trade and investment, and the role it plays in economic growth and job creation at home.
The Governor is expected to return to Hawai’i on July 17, 2011.
