A fire in Makawao yesterday morning burned two acres of brush and damaged a shed on the property.

The fire was first reported at 10:57 a.m. and was under control by 11:41 a.m.

Officials say firefighters had difficulty accessing the area, but were able to extinguish the fire by around 3 p.m.

Crews responding to the scene included Engine 13 and Mini 13 from Kula, Engine 5 from Makawao, Tanker 10 from Kahului, and the department’s Air 1 helicopter.

A total of $6,000 in damage was reported to the 10-foot by 10-foot shed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and undetermined at this time.
