Makena Resort Hosts “Most Lavish” Tennis Event

The Makena Beach & Golf Resort is rolling out the red carpet this year at its Makena Tennis Club’s “Pot of Gold” Doubles Championships in South Maui, starting with “Step and Repeat” complimentary photos of all entrants.

On November 12-13, the newly resurfaced Makena Tennis Club will host its first “Pot of Gold” Doubles Championships and the event features a red carpet player’s party, complete with complimentary tournament portraits by PhotoGraphics Maui; country BBQ favorites with a gourmet twist by Makena Beach & Golf Resorts’ culinary team; Pot of Gold prize drawings, complimentary refreshments and snacks, and the signature amenity of the Makena Tennis Club, oshiburi towels.

“We want everyone, members and non-members alike, to come and experience the ambiance at the newly renovated Makena Tennis Club,” said Frank Salvador, Tennis Director at the Makena Tennis Club. “This event was designed to bring out the best of what we enjoy about tennis…good-fun, good food, competition and camaraderie. Plus, a percentage of the proceeds will benefit the Maui United Way.”

The tournament format will feature two-out-of-three sets, single elimination doubles in each tournament division. Player divisions include: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 & an Open division.
