The incident was reported about one mile from a residence located near mile marker 15 of the Kahekili Highway.

Assisting Air-1 with the rescue, were crews from Engine-1 and Mini-1 in Wailuku, as well as Rescue-10 from Kahului.

The man was airlifted from Kahakuloa to a landing zone near Camp Maluhia where medics were standing by.  Crews then transported the man to the Maui Memorial Medical Center for further treatment.
