The Department of Water Supply is urging residents of Central and South Maui to conserve water today because of a power outage that occurred in Waihee this morning.

The wells in Waihee and Waiehu are currently out of service.  Jacky Takakura, the Administrative Officer with the Maui Department of Water Supply said the wells provide half of the water for the Central and South Maui water system.

The affected neighborhoods include the following areas: Kahului, Wailuku, Waihee, Maalaea, Kihei, Wailea. Makena, and Paia.
