OHA Re-Launches Radio Show

The Office of Hawaiian Affairs announced today that its radio talk show will return weekly to the airwaves, starting Sunday, Nov. 6., featuring former governor John Waihe’e III discussing the Native Hawaiian Roll Commission.
The hour-long Nä ‘Oiwi ‘Ōlina radio show begins at 8 a.m. on Hawaiian 105 KINE- FM as part of renewed efforts to help provide a stronger voice to Native Hawaiian issues and concerns. Mauians can hear the broadcast via the internet at http://www.naoiwiolino.com
The show’s return also helps OHA’s communications program become a more multi-dimensional operation with growing social-media sites and stakes in a free monthly newspaper as well as FM radio.
Radio personalities Billy V and Lina Girl will co-host the show, which will be simulcast on AM-940 Hawaii, Oceanic Cable stations 855 and 856.
Their featured guest will be former governor John Waihe`e III, who will discuss the new five-member Native Hawaiian Roll Commission, which was established by law in July to play a key role in the nation-building process for Native Hawaiians. The other guest will be Esther Kai`äina, who as chief advocate at OHA is part of its executive team.
