Applicants Sought for Lanai Community Plan Advisory Committee

The Maui County Council is seeking applications for an open position on the Lanai Community Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC), announced Riki Hokama, chair of the Maui County Council’s Policy Committee today.

Hokama noted in a written statement that nine of the CPAC’s 13 members will be appointed by the council, while four will be appointed by the mayor. To be eligible to serve on the Lanai CPAC, an applicant must be a resident of the island of Lanai. All Lanai residents are encouraged to apply. Experience in land use planning is helpful, but not required.

The application form and a general information sheet concerning the Lanai CPAC can be found under “Items of Interest” in the Policy Committee’s section of the county website: http://www.mauicounty.gov/committees/pol. In addition, the application form and information sheet are available at the Lanai Council Office at 8th Street and Lanai Avenue, Lanai City.

Applications should be received or postmarked by 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 15.  Hokama said in a written statement that the Policy Committee will meet soon thereafter to consider appointments.
