The Valley Isle Community Federal Credit Union on Maui is warning customers of a reported phone scam targeting members.

The scam involves an automated phone recording that tells recipients their VIC FCU account has been compromised.  The recording then prompts the person to reveal their ATM and Debit account card numbers.

Credit Union officials say the calls started at around 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, 2011.

The credit union also reports non-members have been receiving these calls as well.

Officials with the Valley Isle Community Federal Credit Union say they would never send out recorded messages such as this, especially requesting account information.

If you receive such a message and have given your information, authorities ask that they report the incident to the Valley Isle Community Federal Credit Union at (808) 877-3232 or call (800) 472-3272 to report your ATM or Debit Card Lost/Stolen.
