Critical Fire Weather Conditions Across Maui
Maui County Civil Defense has warned that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures will create rapid fire growth potential. This is not a prediction of new fire starts.
A dry and stable air mass along with breezy winds will lead to critical fire weather conditions by mid-morning today. Northeast winds of 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph, relative humidity around 45%, and the temperature will be around 80 degrees today.
Maui County Civil Defense says they will continue to monitor the situation.
