A portion of Liloa Drive in Kihei will be closed beginning on Monday, December 19, as crews demolish the section for construction of a roundabout.

The closure will be in effect around the clock for a period of four to eight weeks along Liloa Drive from the Piikea Avenue intersection to the Kauhaa Street intersection.

The construction area extends from just south of the Piilani Village Shopping Center driveway along Liloa Drive to Piikea Avenue intersection. County officials say the roadway in this area will be demolished and inaccessible to street vehicles.

Local traffic and emergency vehicle access will be granted from the Kauhaa Street side of the road closure only.  Pedestrian access through the road closure area will be maintained at all times.

Motorists are advised to obey construction flagmen in the area who will direct the flow of traffic.
