The County of Maui celebrates the Year of the Dragon with a special event fronting the County Building on Friday morning, January 27, 2012.
The county festivities surrounding the Chinese New Year celebration begin at 9 a.m., and feature lion dancing by Master Ben Seng Au and his Shaolin Martial Arts Academy.
Red envelopes used to “feed” or reward the lion in the hopes of bringing good luck, are available at the front desk on the 9th floor of the County Building. They will also be available on the lawn the day of the event.
The event is free and open to the public. Spectators will be joined by students from six Maui preschools who will also be in attendance.
