Maui Worksite Wellness Wants Working Group Members
By Wendy Osher
The Maui County Nutrition and Physical Activity Coalition is seeking business representatives to participate in a small focus group to develop strategies for worksite wellness.
The group will be made up of 8 to 12 attendees who will gather information and supplement survey data for a national project on The State of Worksite Health.
Hawai’i was one of 10 states chosen to participate in the nationwide survey research project.
Members will focus on the views of business decision-makers on worksite wellness during working group meetings.
The Maui focus group will meet on Wednesday, April 11 from 5 to 6 p.m. in the conference room of the Pono Building (above Café O Lei) on Market St. in Wailuku.
NPAC organizers say those best suited to participate in the focus groups would have knowledge of human resources and any worksite wellness efforts within their business.
“Even if worksite wellness efforts are not taking place, it would be beneficial to participate in the session, especially if wellness is something of interest for the business,” said Sandra McGuinness, NPAC Maui Coordinator.
Results of the survey and focus group discussions will be released in June, providing a snapshot of wellness efforts in Hawaii.
Individuals interested in participating in the Maui focus group can contact Sandy McGuinness at (808) 264-7895 or [email protected].
