Visitor Medevaced After Falling From Horse in Kīpahulu

A visitor on Maui was Medevaced out of Hāna today after he fell off of a horse at the Maui Stables.

The 28-year-old man from Miami, Florida, was about three-fourths of a mile above the Kīpahulu Park Ranger Station when the incident occurred at around 1:20 p.m., according to Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.

Fire personnel from Engine 7 in East Maui arrived on scene at 1:45 p.m., and crews from Maui Medevac transported the patient out of the area at 2:20 p.m. to the Maui Memorial Medical Center.

Authorities say the man suffered from non-life threatening injuries.
