VIDEO: Hapapa Road Fire in Kula, 3 Structures Threatened

A brush fire in a residential area of Kula has burned a total of six acres at last report.
At 2:30 this afternoon, multiple crews remained active on scene including three helicopters and firefighters from the Kula, Makawao, Kahului and Kihei stations.
A total of three single family homes were threatened, with all sustaining some type of fire damage, according to fire officials.
Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga, said one structure sustained some roof damage, and unknown minor damages were reported at the other two structures.
According to Mainaga, residents on Hapapa Road with house numbers above 156 have been evacuated.
Authorities from Maui County Civil Defense have been notified of the ongoing situation.

Maui firefighters are responding to a fire on Cooke Road in Kula.
Authorities say approximately four acres are involved and three structures were threatened at last report, according to Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.
According to FSO Mainaga, the roof of a single structure caught on fire, but was extinguished by fire crews. It is unknown at this time, the extent of damage.
The fire was first reported at 12:09 p.m.
Crews assisting with the firefighting efforts include: Air-1, Air-2, Engine-5, Engine-13, Mini-13, Tanker-10 and Engine-6.
