Half Acre Burned in Kula Brush Fire

An estimated half acre of brush was burned in a morning fire off of Koheo Road in Kula today.
The fire was reported just before 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 13, 2012, at 460 Koheo Road.
Fire crews arrived to find an area of overgrown grass, protea bushes, and a couple of eucalyptus trees involved in the fire, said Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.
The blaze was contained by 11:16 a.m., and extinguished by 12:35 p.m., authorities said.

No damages or injuries were reported. Crews responding to the scene included Engine 5, Engine 10, Tanker 10, Air 1, and Battalion Chief 1.
