Rescue crews on Maui airlifted a 56-year-old woman to safety after she became stranded on a cliff in Keanae late Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities say the woman became separated from her kayak while snorkeling in shallow waters near Honomanu Bay.
The incident was reported at around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, by the woman’s boyfriend who was also diving in the area.
Rescue 10, responding with Air 1, spotted the woman about a mile West of the area she was last seen at about 5 p.m., said Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.
