Wailuku Scouts Gather 150 lbs of Food in Drive

The Cub Scouts of Pack 40 from Wailuku, Maui, collected 150 pounds of canned goods for its annual Scouting for Food drive.

The event was held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at the Wailuku Hongwanji Mission.

The donated food will be donated to the Maui Food Bank, which in turn will use the goods to provide hunger relief for those in need.

“More than ever before, working families, seniors on fixed incomes, and single parents are relying on the Maui Food Bank just to survive month to month,” said Cub-Master Stephen Gima.

“This is a small way that the our Cub Scouts are able to help make sure that no one in our island ‘ohana goes to bed hungry,” said Gima.
