Kihei Waterline Break, Repairs Complete

A broken waterline in South Maui has since been fixed and water service was fully restored at approximately 12 noon today.

Some water customers in Kihei may be experiencing very low or no water pressure at this time due to a broken service line on an 18-inch main line that supplies the South Maui area.

Water service should be restored by 4 p.m. today, according to Jacky Takakura, Administrative Officer with the Maui Department of Water Supply.

The affected area includes the Sugar Beach area of North Kihei Road, Mokulele Highway, South Kihei Road, Pi’ilani Highway, and Kilohana Drive.

Customers are asked to call the 24-hour service lineĀ  at (808) 270-7633, only if a water problem occurs.
