Lahainaluna Home Fire Causes $200,000 in Damages

A home fireĀ in Lahaina caused an estimated $200,000 in damages early Saturday morning, December 22, 2012.

The incident was first reported at 1:13 a.m. at a single story, three-bedroom home, located at 233 Lahainaluna Road in West Maui.

When fire crews from Engine-3 arrived on scene, they found the home approximately 50% involved in fire.

The fire was brought under control within 25 minutes from the time of the arrival of the first company, and was extinguished by 6:19 a.m., said Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.

The fire caused extensive damage to approximately half of the 4,800 square-foot structure, said Mainaga.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was undetermined after investigation.

Other units that responded to the scene included the Maui Fire Department’s Engine-3, Ladder-3, Engine-ii, Engine-6, Engine-10, Ladder-14, and Tanker 3.
