Two boys and two girls wrestlers from the Maui Interscholastic League received No. 1 seeds in the Chevron State Championships to be held Friday and Saturday at the Neal Blaisdell Arena on Oahu.

Two of the top seeds are from Lahainaluna High School, Bubba Jaramillo at 140 pounds in the boys division and Precious Jaramillo at 121 in the girls division.

The other top seeds are Baldwin’s Danny Welds-Ebanks in the boys 189 weight class, and Molokai’s Rizpah Torres-Umi in the girls 125 weight class.

The Lunas won the MIL team title last Saturday at Maui High School for the eighth consecutive time in the boys division and the fourth in a row for the girls.

Lahainaluna has three No. 2 seeds with Hercules Mataafa (215) in the boys division and Tekau Taamu (140) and Lalelei Mataafa (220) in the girls. Also seeded second were Molokai girls teammates Kailaoe Cabating (105) and Desiree Corpuz (113), and Andrew Kahalewai (152) of Kamehameha Schools Maui.
