War Memorial Little League, Paia Gym Field Improvements

The public is advised of two improvement projects planned for the Department of Parks and Recreation on Maui. The improvements include a $403,443 project to improve accessibility at the War Memorial Little League fields, and a $61,960 project for fencing and backstop construction at the Paia Gym Field.
War Memorial Little League Improvements
The Department of Parks & Recreation will be constructing new accessible parking stalls at the War Memorial Little League Fields next week.
The work will take place on Hali’a Nakoa Street and Kanaloa Avenue between March 4 and May 10.
Besides providing accessible parking stalls, county officials say improvements will also include building an accessible sidewalk, stairs and new fencing.
The cost for design and construction of the improvements is $403,443, with the general contract awarded to West Maui Construction.
During construction the Little League fields will remain open to the public however access from Hali’a Nakoa Street and Kanaloa Avenue will be affected. The public is asked to follow all posted instructions regarding available access points to the fields to ensure public safety.
Fencing Improvements Slated for Paia Gym Field
In Upcountry Maui, a portion of the play field behind Paia Gym is scheduled to be closed for construction of a backstop and foul line fencing.
The three week closure begins today with the $61,960 contract awarded to David’s Fencing.
