The County of Maui will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the Nahiku Community Center in East Maui next weekend.
The event is in celebration of the planned 2,689 square foot facility that will include a social hall, covered entry lanai, kitchen, restrooms, and storage.
The $641,206 contract was awarded to Maui Kupono Builders, LLC, and reportedly includes a $250,000 grant from the State of Hawai’i.
County officials say construction will begin in May. The groundbreaking will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 30. The public is invited to attend.
