The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the Summit of Haleakala on Maui until 6 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2013.

Forecasters from the NWS say winds are expected to be blowing in the 25 to 35 mph range, with localized gusts of over 50 mph expected through tonight.

Advisory level winds can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.

The public is reminded to tie down any loose items to prevent them from becoming airborne, and to use extra caution while driving.
