2nd Annual Un-Silent Night Event Friday
By Maui Now Staff
This Friday, December 20, at Lulu’s Lahaina is Maui’s Un-Silent Night 2.
According to organizer Ryan McGinnis, “People can expect a festival-styled event progressively moving from stand up comedy to live performances. That’s followed by a dance party with an amazing DJ line up and after hours DJs playing electronic dandy, rce music (EDM).”
Chino LaForge – billed as Maui’s #1 stand up comedian – will be starting off the night with laughter. Fresh off his most recent mainland tour, Chino is back on local stages.
Next up is rap, hip hop, and RnB duo, Lil J and The Beta.
McGinnis tells us “Josh Forde (Lil J) has been producing, performing, and writing music for years and Jason Arcilla (The Beta) performs live with the young rapper to combine smooth vocals with bumping beats and rhymes.”
Meanwhile, DJ Producer M!CKY G specializes in electro house and tech house and every live set is unique.
Also spinning tunes will be DJ Big Mike, DJ Kamikaze and DJ Wok the listing of which makes us think of the Portlandia skit in which everyone – including Carrie’s mom and a homeless person – seems to be a DJ.
Anywho, the event is a benefit for the Maui Food Bank.
Attendees are asked to bring canned food items and/or cold hard cash.
Things start at 10 p.m. and are limited to those 21 and older. If there is a cost to attend, we weren’t told about it.
