Two Arrested in Alleged Mail Thefts

Maui police arrested two suspects in connection with the alleged theft of items from mailboxes on Maui.

The suspects were first observed by police taking items out of mailboxes, and arrested two days later when police executed a warrant on the vehicle they were in.

Police say the search revealed numerous items that were taken from mail boxes with addresses in Wailuku, Hāliʻimaile, Makawao and Pukalani.

The suspects were taken into custody and released pending further investigation, according to police reports.

The incident was classified as unauthorized possession of confidential personal information.
