Nominations Sought for Water Resource Management

Applications are being accepted for a single position on the state Commission on Water Resource Management.

The Water Commission is composed of seven members, and has jurisdiction and final authority on matters relating to the State Water Code.

The nominating committee will review applications and send the names of no less than three qualified individuals to the governor for consideration.

Applications should be postmarked no later than Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, with the starting date for the four-year term set for July 1, 2014.

State law requires that each member have “substantial experience in the area of water resource management,” according to a Department of Land and Natural Resources announcement.
