The Maui High School baseball team improved to 3-0 in the Maui Interscholastic League Division I standings Wednesday, shutting out Kamehameha Schools Maui in five innings, 11-0.

The game was played at Maehara Stadium before a sparse crowd of about 100.

Callen Beeson started and went the first four innings and the Sabers gave him a 10-run cushion. Beeson earned the win and Kaipo Paschoal pitched the fifth inning as the pair combined on a two-hitter.

The win allowed the Sabers to keep pace with Baldwin (3-0) for first place in the MIL Division I standings.

Kody Medeiros, R.J. Hernandez and Brandon Yonashiro each had two hits to lead Maui High offensively.

The Warriors dropped to 4-3.
