This Sunday, May 11 is Mother’s Day.

She fed you all those years. Show your mama how much all those peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with the crusts cut off meant to you with a lavish buffet in her honor.

The Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort Villas is hosting theirs at the resort’s Ocean Pool Bar and Grill.

The Mother’s Day Champagne Brunch is available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and offers over 50 selections including a carving station serving green peppercorn and garlic crusted prime rib with au jus and horseradish cream.

There is also an omelet station for custom-made egg creations and a breakfast station with  oven-fresh Danish pastries, muffins, cinnamon rolls, classic Eggs Benedict, Hawaiian sweet bread French toast, smoked bacon and chicken sausage.

At the hot selection station, anticipate Hawaiian salt country ham, pasta pomodoro, shrimp fried rice, island catch and more but don’t forget to leave room for  lilikoi mango cheese cake, coconut cake, brownie bites and assorted cookies.

The buffet is $54  per adult – and includes a glass of champagne – and $27 per child age 4 to 12 years.

For reservations, call the Westin Villas resort at 808-667-3259.

Held at the Molokini Bar & Grille Restaurant, Makena’s Beach & Golf Resort’s Mother’s Day Brunch is available from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Mom can go to town on Makena’s signature Egg Benedict, thick-cut smoked bacon, Portuguese sausage, apple-stuffed chicken sausage or Grand Mariner soufflé French toast filled with creamy custard and sweet caramel..

If breakfast isn’t so much her thing, there is also seared prime tenderloin medallions, pan-seared pepper ahi with a ginger-lime butter sauce, Wagyu beef with black truffles and porcini ravioli topped with asparagus and oven dried tomatoes in a brandy peppercorn sauce.

The  fresh sashimi, assorted pokes, peel-n-eat shrimp, in-house smoked salmon, snap-n-eat Dungeness crab legs, assortment of fresh made-to-order sushi may not cause your mother to forget the time you crashed her car, but it might go a long way toward forgiveness.

Those of you who really raised hell are advised to point her toward the chef’s selection of pates and seafood terrines, display of artisan cheeses from around the world and freshly baked lavash and artisan style breads… and hope for the best.

Offered at $65 per adult, $45 per child (ages 9-12) and $30 per child (ages 5-8); the Makena’s Mother’s Day Brunch also promises live entertainment.

The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa offers yet another opportunity to warm Mom’s heart and expand her waistline.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the resort’s Swan Court restaurant is hosting a lavender-themed brunch buffet, featuring dishes seasoned with culinary lavender blends from Maui’s own Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm.

Brunch buffet options include prime rib; surfing goat cheese frittata; blueberry pancakes with coconut syrup; smoked salmon with capers and cream cheese; and an assortment of fresh fruit, muffins, bagels, and pastries.

Also available are two for $15 Brown Sugar Bacon Bloody Marys and Sunrise Mimosas, and a Surfing Goat Dairy lavender treat for for the road.

Brunch itself is priced at $49.95 per adult and $24.95 per child, exclusive of tax and gratuity.

Reservations can be made by calling 808-667-4727.

Lastly, for those who were frustrated that our Easter dining lineup didn’t include any budget options, make note that Sugar Cane Maui Restaurant in Lahaina is offering a “Moms eat free on Sunday, May 11, when accompanied by their significant other” deal.

Single moms take heart, although we don’t know this for certain, we imagine if you go with another paying adult, you (probably. hopefully.) don’t have to define your relationship to each other or the wait staff.

Probably.

Hopefully.

Still, if that doesn’t work for you for whatever reason, Sugar Cane is prolonging the love: kama’aina moms dine for 40% off the entire month of May.

Call 808-214-6662 for more information.
