The Seabury Hall Math Team earned the highest overall score at the State Math Bowl, held on May 3 at Brigham Young University-Hawaiʻi on Oʻahu, school administrators announced.

“This victory represented the first time in the 36-year history of the Math Bowl that the overall high score was achieved by a team in the small-school division,” said Kathleen Buenger, director of development at Seabury Hall.

Seabury Hall won the small-school division with a total of 84 points, 35 points ahead of Maryknoll who finished second, Buenger said.

Seabury Hall’s score also topped the highest scoring large-schools, with ʻIolani bringing in 81 points, and Punahou finishing with 78 points, according to school administrators.

Seabury Hall’s three-member team was coached by math teacher Mitch Krulewich, and was comprised of: senior Fletcher Prouty; junior Jasmine Doan; and freshman Jesse Doan.
