The Outlets of Maui announced a new West Maui shuttle service that is being offered to customers between Kāʻanapali and Lahaina.

The shuttle will provide daily service between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. beginning on Monday, May 19, 2014, with hourly stops at seven resort properties in Kāʻanapali and Lahaina Harbor.

The Outlets of Maui Shuttle will be operated by Roberts Hawaiʻi, and will cost $2 per person per ride. Transportation on the shuttle will be free for children ages four and younger.

“Our guests and customer service are important to us and this provides convenient transportation from West Maui to the world’s only ocean front outlet shopping center in a historic island destination,” said Mona Abadir, principal for The Outlets of Maui in a company press release. “And, as we continue to be ever more environmentally conscious, the shuttle provides a great option that can keep more cars off the road for a more sustainable Maui,” she said.

Percy Higashi, president and COO of Roberts Hawaiʻi also commented in a joint press release saying, “Shuttles are a successful and welcome amenity in many resort areas, and we’re very pleased to be able to operate the first ever daily shuttle service for West Maui. It’s a great convenience for Kāʻanapali guests who can enjoy the ease and comfort of taking an air-conditioned shuttle to enjoy a day of shopping.”

The company says all riders will receive a complimentary Value Coupon Book containing special offers and discounts towards retailers at The Outlets of Maui.

The redeveloped 10-building, 147,000 square-foot center opened late last year and is now Maui’s first outlet center, and only the second outlet center in the state.

The 12-acre outlet center is located at the intersection of Front Street and Pāpalaua Street in Lahaina and features a list of outlet retailers including: Michael Kors, Guess, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Coach, Izod, Lucky Brand, Brooks Brothers, Carter’s, Banana Republic, Gap, Adidas and Sketchers.
