Maui Crime Log: Oct. 19-25 Burglaries, Thefts, Break-ins

Maui police responded to 20 burglaries, 13 vehicle thefts, and 24 vehicle break-ins in Maui County over a seven day period, between Oct. 19 to 25, 2014.

Of the 13 vehicle thefts, four vehicles have since been recovered.  The most vehicle theft reports for the week were in Kahului, where five incidents were reported.  Vehicle thefts are up from just five incidents reported a week earlier.

Burglary incidents were also up with 20 burglaries reported over the week, up from 15 the week before.  The greatest number of incidents were reported in the Kīhei area were six incidents were reported, followed by Haʻikū and Makawao, which had three incidents each.

Vehicle break-ins rose to 24, up from 15 the week before.  Seven of the incidents were in Kahului, and five were in Wailea.
