“Halloween in Lahaina” returns to world famous Front Street on Friday, October 31, 2014, with an anticipated crowd of 30,000 people.

Highlights include the 36th Annual Keiki Halloween Costume Parade at 4:30 p.m. sponsored by the West Maui Soroptomists, Lahaina Rotary Clubs, and the National Kidney Foundation of Hawaiʻi.

The grand marshall for this years event will be Burn’n Love’s Darren Lee.

Maui keiki are invited to come in costume and parade down Front Street to Banyan Tree Park, receive a congratulatory ribbon and bag of treats.

Also, come enjoy the Lahainaluna High School Marching Band. Mayor Alan Arakawa and his wife Ann will be participating in the festivities as well.

Live entertainment sponsored by Aloha Self Storage Lahaina begins at 6 p.m. in Campbell Park, featuring the Haʻikū Hillbilly’s.

“Halloween in Lahaina” is supported by Lahaina merchants and the sales of the “official” Halloween T-Shirt which is on sale now at the Lahaina Visitor Center at the Old Courthouse.  Both locations are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Shirts will also be on sale at Campbell Park starting at noon on Halloween.

All are invited to join in on a photo op at Campbell Park, or enter the adult Costume Contest Halloween night at Banyan Tree Park from 7 to 9 p.m. Sign up begins at 6 p.m. at a the Pioneer Inn retail store on Hotel Street adjacent to the main stage in Banyan Park.

Special thanks to Honu Seafood & Pizza and Māla Ocean Tavern for sponsoring the contest and awarding the grand price of $1,000 to the winning entry. Emcee Angel O’Brien returns along with DJ Serna who will be spinning music at the costume contest at Banyan Tree Park from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Burn’n Love’s Darren Lee will perform from 9 to 9:30 p.m.

Food will be available for purchase from 4 p.m. in Campbell Park.

The Lahaina Town Action Committee and the Office of Economic Development are hosting the family friendly event for the residents and visitors of Maui.

Street Closures:

Front Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from Baker Street to Prison Street from 3:30 p.m. to midnight on Friday, Oct. 31, 2014.  No Street parking is allowed from 3:30 p.m. to midnight.  Employees parked in parking lots with ingress/egress only on Front Street will not be able to exit parking lots between 3:30 p.m. and midnight.

Obey the Laws:

Underage drinking is prohibited. Alcohol consumption is prohibited. Public nudity is prohibited.

Lost Person Tent; Port-a-potties: 

The LahainaTown Action Committee Lost Person Tent will be located at Banyan Tree Park, at the corner of Front and Hotel Streets.

Port-a-potties will be located throughout town including Pāpaluau Street, Lahainaluna Road, Fleetwood’s On Front Street alley way, Market Street and Canal Street.

Transportation Shuttles:

Sponsored by Cheeseburger in Paradise Lahaina. Lahaina Halloween Express will have shuttles departing from War Memorial Parking Lot and Kīhei Aquatic Center Parking Lot. Advance tickets are available for $5 each way, cash only. Check in with Campbell park for available tickets not sold departing to Wailuku and Kīhei Halloween night. Shuttles are on a first come first serve basis for purchase and boarding. Click here for full transportation information and schedules.

Schedule of Events:

  • 3:30 p.m. to midnight: Front Street Road Closure, Baker to Prison.  No Front Street parking, and road closed to vehicular traffic.
  • 4:30 p.m.: 36th Annual Keiki Costume Parade
  • Campbell Park
    • 6 to 8 p.m.: Live Music featuring ” The Haʻikū Hillbilly’s”
    • noon to 10 p.m.: Official “ Halloween In Lahaina 2014” t-shirt sales
    • Keiki activities, face painting, photo opportunities
    • Food sales starting at 4 p.m.
    • Campbell Park activities begin at 6 p.m., and the park closes at 10 p.m.
  • 6 p.m.: Banyan Tree Park
    • Costume Contest Registration, Hotel Street
    • Pioneer Costume Contest- DJ Serna spinning tunes 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. with Emcee Angel O’Brien
  • 7 to 9 p.m.: Costume Contest sponsored by Honu Seafood & Pizza and Māla Ocean Tavern
  • 9:30 p.m.: Announcement of Costume Contest Winners
  • 10 p.m.: Banyan Tree Park Closes
