Burger King Hawaiʻi Meets $10K Goal for Angel Tree Program

Burger King Hawaiʻi exceeded its $10,000 fundraising goal for the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program this year.
Each dollar raised through the campaign statewide went directly toward the purchase of gifts requested by children at local Salvation Army programs on respective islands.
A total of 60,000 gifts were distributed across the state through the Angel Tree partnership this year.
The program was made possible through Burger King Hawaiʻi, The Salvation Army and Aloha United Way.
“We are grateful to have not only met, but actually exceeded our $10,000 fundraising goal,” said Denise Yamauchi, BKHI Managing Director in a company press release. “Thanks to giving customers and caring staff in our 24 BKHI restaurants statewide, and to the efforts of Aloha United Way and The Salvation Army, we did almost 20% better than last year.”
“Aloha United Way would like to extend a heartfelt ‘mahalo’ to the many BKHI customers and staff who generously expressed the spirit of giving for this campaign,” said Cindy Adams, Aloha United Way President and CEO. “The statewide support will truly help to make the holiday season merry and bright for hundreds of keiki in our local community.”
As part of the fundraising effort, Burger King customers were invited to add a cash contribution of any size to their drive-thru window purchase between Nov. 10 and Dec. 15, and to sign an “Angel Tree” tag to be posted in the store.
