Boy Dies in Makawao Dirt Bike Accident

The Maui County Police Department responded to an accident involving a 6-year old boy and a motorized dirt bike at the park at Eddie Tam Gym in Makawao on Sunday, Dec. 28, at approximately 12:30 p.m.

An MPD press release stated that the boy was transported from the scene in critical condition to Maui Memorial Medical Center, where he later died.

The MPD said the boy was not wearing any protective gear at the time of the accident, which is currently under investigation.
