Fifth Annual Maui Fringe Theater Festival Begins Friday, Jan. 23

The fifth annual “Maui Fringe Theater Festival 2015” will be held from Friday, Jan. 23 through Sunday, Jan. 25, at the Historic ‘Īao Theater.
This year’s performing arts marathon opens with “Mandarin Orange,” starring writer-performer Kate Robards in this juicy journey from Orange, Texas, to Shanghai, China.
Early Music Maui presents “Vivaldi’s Virgins,” an original play with live music about Antonio Vivaldi.
“Improvocation,” creates an original comedy performance incorporating audience suggestions.
Adaptations Dance Theater and Darshan Dance Project collaborate at this year’s Fringe, combining contemporary ballet and Odissi dance from India.
“Hard Travelin’ with Woody” by Randy Noojin, is a critically acclaimed one-man play about the iconic folk singer Woody Guthrie.
Closing the festival is Will Durst’s one-man show “Boomeraging: From LSD to OMG.”
“It’s what happens when acid flashbacks meet dementia,” said Durst.
