Maui Brewing Company will be throwing a fundraising event to benefit the Monk Seal Foundation at its Kahana brewpub on Friday, Feb. 27, from 6 to 10 p.m. Fifty percent of all profits sold during the evening will go towards the foundation.

Eighteen locally made beers will be on tap at the Maui pub, located at 4405 Honoapi‘ilani Highway.

The event marks the Maui Brewing Company’s fourth fundraiser in support of monk seals, Hawai‘i’s official state mammal. The endangered species plays an important role in maintaining local ecosystems, but their populations have dwindled to 1,150 known seals after existing 13 million years in the islands. The species is found nowhere else in the world.
